If you want a copy of the final version of Ubuntu 7.04 “Feisty Fawn,” it’s out there now–but everyone else is trying to get to it too.
The influx of traffic to the Ubuntu.com servers is causing a very strong slowdown in the Web site’s response times, and occasionally 503 errors are being reported back.
The release notes for version 7.04 are now available, as is the download page. Users are cautioned to expect very slow response times during this initial crush of traffic. Bittorrent downloads are also available, and as of this morning, they are very healthy. Linux Today encourages those with .torrent clients to pull down copies using that method, rather than a direct download.
If a direct download is preferred, this complete mirror list will guide you to a local mirror site.
A quick sampling of mirror sites shows that they are currently populated with version 7.04 files.
